Yay! This is Einstein’s official growth feed. He’s been growing so fast I figured it was time to start posting...
I did a quick forum introduction a few weeks ago but here is a recap.
I got Einstein at about 1 month old from local shop that works with a local breeder. The shop was great but like everyone quickly learns on this forum, a lot breeders start their little babies out too dry. I was fairly lucky in that although he appears to have been started a little dry, I got Einstein early enough that he seems be thriving. He does have some evidence of slight pyramiding but I’m working to put a stop to that!(high humidity and soaking once a day for 30-40 minutes)
So here we are today. At his first weigh in at home(9/23), he was 43g and now, a month and a half later(11/4), the little piglet has broken into the 100’s at 102g.
I’m still feeding a rotating diet of Dandelion, wheat grass, radicchio, mustard greens, collard greens, romaine, aloe and cactus pads. As well as mixing in mazuri 2-3 time per week. (This guy eats waaaaaaay better than I do!)
I also gave my tortoise house an upgrade to make it more humidity and temp efficient as well as functional for me. This set up is working great. I switched out my original basking bulb for a flood type bulb as @Tom recommended which has helped stabilize my basking temp at 100°F. The tube UVB and thermostat regulated CHE are still the same.
Now that the logistics are out of the way here are some pics of Einstein progress.........
Some side by side comparisons
