If a tort is to develop pyramiding problems, when does it usually begin to surface?

My redfoot is one year old, and in my opinion, his shell looks fine, but I'm unsure.

Not the best angle to tell, but his shell looks okay. He has started to pyramid a little, but its nothing major, just keep his humidity up and give him as much natural sunlight as you can.

I try to keep the humidity up, and while the gauge says its humid, it doesn't quite feel humid. But the substrate and such is wet.

If the gauges say its humid but you don't feel it is, I would recommend getting a digital hygrometer so you have an accurate reading. The substrate should be damp but not wet/soggy. Do you have any sphagnum moss in his hide?

Yes, I have moss all over his enclosure. And I keep misting it to keep it moist, and the meters read high if I leave them on the enclosure floor, but if I set them on the wall of it, they plummet.
