Hi all. I have 2 2.5 inch babies. It's been cold and today is the first warner day. I wNt them to get some real sunshine. It's currently 72 F. Can I put them In a taller tub to block any wind and they will be ok?

Yes. Should be fine. Use a temp gun and check the temperature of the tub, any substrate, the tortoises carapace, etc., early and often. They can die even on a cool day if in full sun for long enough, so monitor things closely, offer some shade and check those temps.
