Hi i'm just wondering if my leo can feel through his shell?

Yes, I think they can. I rub mine's shell and it seems to calm him. Once I tapped on it (apparently causing vibrations) and he did not like it one bit.

When they are new, they mostly just want to be left alone. But as they get more used to you feeding them, they will become less anxious about being held and touched.

If you hand feed them a few bites of their favorite foods they will get used to you being a good thing.

yes, i think they can to a point.. especially the areas of new growth in between the scutes. like our finger nails..

I think they can. I have seen mine rubbing his butt end back and forth on the bottom of a gate he thought he could fit under. It was really funny:D

When I scratch my Leo's butt/shell he leans back into it and shakes his butt from side to side. Its so funny. It reminds me of a bear backed up to a tree scratching it's back.
