Quick question on shell growth

I was just at the herp vet last week and Quammen was deemed healthy and the vet was happy he was gaining weight after being underweight when I got him.

He has, what I hope, is new shell growth and its very prominent the past few days!

Thoughts? Is it actual shell growth?

(He just ate his calcium dusted food, so his beak is a bit coated)

Yup, that's exactly what that weird white cuticle looking line is. I had the same concerns when my guy All Of A Sudden started wearing that strange belt. So glad this community exists so we can ask all these questions!
