Quick! UVB light

would this serve as a good UVB for my baby sulcata? This is the only one the pet store has that isn't coil.

Your welcome. I would just look into how many watts you need. A 100 watt MVB gets really hot. The one there is 160 so it all depends on your enclosure needs.

Thanks!! All they have is the 160.... Should I wait and look for one online? The problem is, I am in a high demand of it for my baby sulcata's shell is very soft.

I would just make sure that the light is far enough away that the heat doesn't raise the temps of the enclosure too much, and there is no way of burning your tort. As Tim the tool man Taylor says, "More power!"!!! (flashback moment)

Start with what it says on the box, and then use your thermometer to fine tune from there. You want a basking spot of about 95-100 directly under the bulb at tortoise height.

I use a small pebble, roughly around the tortoises size. I put that under the lamp and leave it there for about 15 minutes then use my temp gun and see what it reads and make adjustments accordingly.
