Hey what do I need to know if I'm getting a red foot tortoise?

Be careful doing research on the Internet. Not all places have the correct info like this forum does. The site Yvonne mentioned and here are two places you can't go wrong.

For their care, I would go to the Tortoise Library or Turtletary.com.
You will learn everything.

The best thing to do is get an enclosure all set up and ready to go before you purchase a tortoise. It makes things much less stressful. These tortoises need warm, humid environments and any species that you acquire takes a good amount of work to care for.
