The day after Christmas I found one red foot egg on the surface of the substrate. To my knowledge it couldn't have been there for more than a day. It seems a bit hard and calcified. I immediately put it in the incubator with my two leopard tortoise eggs. I checked on it today and it seems fine. I know it's too early to tell if it's fertile. I was wondering if anyone had a similar experience and have successfully hatched a tortoise. Thanks

Over the years I have found more than a few eggs laying in pens & about 1/3 of them have hatched.
My general advice is to put every egg you find in an incubator.

I would treat it as if it was a fertile egg. But I have had fairly low success in hatching eggs that were just laid randomly in the yard or in a pen.
