Red patch on neck

Hi, noticed this red patch on Russian tortoises neck… anyone know what the problem is?

Hello and welcome from Devon. Have you checked the edge of the shell, in case there is a rough edge which might be rubbing the neck ?

You've got more than just a red spot, your tortoise is missing all the scales on its neck. Are you giving this tort supplements?

I would also venture to guess that the humidity levels are very low & substrate too dry & tortoise probably not soaked often enough.

I would first give that tortoise a nice long warm water soaking.

This sometimes happens when a tortoise climbs the wall then accidentally slips quickly down quicker than he can pull his head in. The front edge of the shell scuffs the neck.

Hi, yes, give him this on most feeds
I would definitely cut back on that to maybe once a week. Too much vitamin A presents symptoms very similar to what your tort has

Should I switch supplement or just use this one less frequently?
