Ok fellow Redfoot mamas and papas; so I recently upgraded my indoor enclosure and because it's bigger I'm noticing little microclimates I haven't dealt with before!
Right now my temps are topping out at 93 in the warm part of he enclosure. But at night with the temp gun I measured a 72 degree spot.
I'm wondering is this a bit too low for a 2 yr old Redfoot?
He chooses to sleep in this area despite there being an 80 degree hide near the CHE at night.
The ambient temp at night is 75.
One of my reds chooses to sleep by the CHE. The other keeps burrowing in the lower 70's part of the enclosure.
That back right side of the enclosure is closer to the window, which is why it's a bit cooler. If it is indeed too cold for him I can add another CHE. But I also wonder if it is in fact too cold, why is he choosing to sleep there?
He obviously likes the substrate to burrow in and the ramp on his back!
