Hello everyone,
Since my original post, I've made several upgrades to Mr. Krabs' living situation. He is now kept warm around the clock, and the temperature inside his hide has not dropped below 85°F. I soak him daily for 20–30 minutes and change his water immediately if he poops. He has a great appetite, moves around his enclosure regularly, and gets plenty of exercise. he comes running whenever he sees me, which is honestly makes me so happy.
My main concern now is determining whether his respiratory infection has fully resolved. I've attached a few videos of him breathing. Since I wasn't familiar with his normal breathing patterns before the infection, it's difficult for me to tell whether he's back to normal or if there are still signs of illness.
I'd really appreciate any feedback from those with more experience. Based on the videos, do his eyes look healthy and normal? Does his breathing sound normal to you? Are there any signs that the respiratory infection may still be present?
Thank you in advance for any advice or observations. I'm doing my best to give this tortoise the care he deserves, and I truly appreciate all the helpful information this community has provided so far.
