Rf barking?

Hey everyone!
I was wondering if it means they have a respitory infection when they "bark"? He only seems to do it when he's happy so I dont know and its only once when he does it?

I've never heard mine bark! The only noise I've heard is a hiss when they pull their head in fast into their shell and air shoots out of them making a hisss noise.
Can you give a bit more info, like how shes standing or if there's anything else you've noticed like bubbles from the nose. If they have a respitory infection I think they have bubbles from the nose and look like they're are gasping for air, but I've never experienced this, only saying what I've read.

Nope, no bubbles or anything. It seems like a "happy bark" just wanted to make sure that it wasn't anything bad.

Lucille makes a sort of "puffing" sound when she's excited or frustrated. I was worried about it at first, but she's fine.

Sometimes I hear a click when Pio eats....but no other noise from him.

Hmmm never heard of barking....Tallula only hisses, especially when she throws a tantrum lol

That's odd. So long as there aren't any signs of being sick I wouldn't be too concerned. But the main noises I hear are squeals if they wind up on their back, hisses when pulling head in and clickinig while eating. How old is Mow? I do know that when mating some torts will make barking sounds. Has mow reached sexual maturity?

Actually yes - i saw a video on YouTube of a tortoise humping a shoe, making a barking sound - sounded almost like a seal in the ocean! hehe
But yeah, as long as your tort is eating well, pooping well, is hydrated and active, you shouldn't worry
