I don't even give mine soaks anymore because he just spends the whole time trying to climb out. I assume he's getting enough water either through the misting or eating the food I'm giving him because he sure has a lot of energy. Either way, he's got to be in a better place that the 5 gallon fish tank at Petsmart. Mine likes to be covered in dirt too...lol

From my experience, I would say Russians can be quite fond of the enclosures on the dryer side (unless they're babies). But in Florida, I would think he probably gets a good deal of moisture from the air and lots from food, especially cactus, cucumber, and the like. :) It is good to have a water dish available for him in case he ever changes his mind though.
