I have been waiting a while for breeders to start selling baby Russians, I have looked in kingsnake.com but I have found none.

Any idea around what month breeders will be showing up with baby Russians?

Most likely April I would think when the temps start warming up enough to ship. :)

Not to mention the size difference :D Might not start off too different in size, but won't take long before little Russian gets bullied and trampled on.

if you do put them together make sure you keep an eye on them. the sulcata being bigger could easily hurt the Russian.

Would it be ok to have a russian with a sulcata (young one) for a couple years, then separate them when the sulcata grew up?

They really have different needs so its not advisable. :)

care to elaborate? What if I had separate feeding, bathing, and sleeping quarters, but just connected the two for periods during the day?

It really isn't advisable to combine the two, no matter how short the period of time. Each species carries their own natural flora of bacteria, protozoans and such. To combine them for even a short time gives these flora a chance to infect the other and vice versa, and could lead to illness in your torts. Hope that helped:)

Russian babies just aren't as cute as most other types of tort hatchlings, are they? :p

Hurley has been GUNG HO about it STILL - so he's been going at it for a month now! So I'd say there's a fair chance that SOMEONE should produce before too long!

Kelly, I can't wait either, and all shelled babies are cute. Hey maybe yours are just conspiring together until you put them in the outside enclosure. That way they can lay and you won't know it. That's what my Greeks did and look what it got me, Comet. But a word of CAUTION, once they go outside, be careful where you step in their enclosure, there could be a baby just under foot.
