Russian outdoor set up

here is the new enclosure for my two russian boys. it is about 8 feet wide by 26 feet long. it will have some fence type sides and something on top once they are in there full time this summer!!!!!

That's really nice. You've done a good job. I especially like that there's a tortoise in one of the pictures. It gives us a better idea of the habitat's size when we can see an occupant.

May I suggest a lip all around the top edge, and figure out something at the bricks on the left end. A Russian can climb up that front brick and get on top of the brick house, then right off the side and out of the pen.

Beautiful enclosure. Ditto on Yvonne's suggestions. Russians are great escape artist. Also, they are very much loners and can be one of the most likely to bully another. Keep a very close eye on them for just that. You may have to separate them.

I'm really jealous of the size yours torts home! Once I have my own yard then I'll be able to build my torts out doors enclosure much larger! Awesome though!

Concerning the lip idea on your enclosure, my rule of thumb with russians is to double the hight of the sides for the combined tortoise hight. They can and do stand on each other for an opportunity to escape. I like the lights on the top of the posts, integrating the enclosure into the landscape scheme of your human habitat. Very nice.
