Russian Tortoise and Protein?

Hi guys!
Im reading this book now on Russian Tortoises and it says protein is very helpful in the nutrition of a Russian Tortoise. So i was wondering if you guys fed your Russian Tortoises protein like every month? If so, what should i feed him, how much, and how often?

they need to limit their animal protein and go for plant protein, I feed mine a variety of leaves and flowers from many different plants.

What kind of plants that have protein do you feed them, then?

I feed mine hibiscus leaves grape leaves mulberry leaves radish tops artichoke leaves various squash leaves, they get enough protein from the plant matter.

They're not talking about animal protein.

All plant matter contains protein. Use the dark, leafy greens.

Russian tortoises should not intentionally be fed protein. What little they require will be gained from plant proteins in a quality, varied diet.
