Anybody know how to sex a snapper turtle? Or how old they have to be to do so? I know I could Google it but I enjoy asking on here I get alot of different answers and alot of good advice

My guess would be the same as a for any turtle- the question would mainly be how big they have to get for the changes to be evident. I think that can vary significantly between species. [emoji2]

That's what I was guessing. My little Elvis is about the size of my palm. I don't think he's big enough yet. But my mother in law has a yearling snapper out of the same clutch and he is about 6-7 inches. His name is blue. He is a very gentle turtle. My Elvis was very sick for several months and did a qnot grow.. he kept flipping himself upside down and wouldn't eat. He's doing very well now. Blue has a very big thick long tail and his "butt" is way farther down his tail than elvis'. And Elvis is small yet but his tail is very short. I am curious if my Elvis is a girl and blue is a boy ? Not sure if they're big enough to tell yet though lol.
