Clarifying question: you are talking about the skin shedding, right? Not the shell? Because the shell should NOT shed. It is normal for the skin to shed. When they are small and growing, it will happen more often than later when they are adult and slow down. But they do still shed occasionally once adult. Soaking once a week (if adult) amd misting them and their habitat can help.

Yes it is his skin he is having a growing spurt at the moment
