Here are a couple pictures of Rockett. I am concerened that he is too dry, or has some other issues. I know nothing about the care of a tortoise but I am going to be learning.
Thanks JJ

Hi JJ:

Rockett looks perfectly fine. The only thing I see that might be a bit "wrong," is her eyes. She looks a bit dehydrated to me. Do you ever soak her? Does she have a waterer in her habitat? Steppe (Russian) tortoises' shells almost always look like Rockett's.

Thanks Yvonne, I figure that you determined that Rockett is a her from its tail? I never knew for sure. Thanks. No she does not get soaks often as I did not know the proper care of her. I am learning and she had just had a soak before the picture. There is a rock like water dish that she can get completely into but she does not seem to get in it much.

The turtles habitat is a in my living room under a fan and the humidity has been around 40ish. I have been spraying him and the habitat down but it dries out quickly. I need to arrange a better place for his habitat to be.

When I put her in the soak today she was either swimming or trying to get out. She pooped several times and the water was a greenish nasty color and looked almost like the top of the water was cover in a scale like substance that reminded me of fish food flakes. Guess I'll start soaking her weekly. JJ
