When I received my TGG they both had what I guess is nail polish on their shutes, to identify them. I can see the area where they're marked is now discoloured on the shell itself.

Firstly is it safe for me to use some nail polish remover to get the remaining polish off? & secondly with the damage under it repair over time?

Thanks

Dont use nail polish remover. It will all come off eventually, you can just rub it with a wet cloth or sponge and it will come off a little faster.

I cant see a sponge lifting off nail polish, will it? But no I didn't feel happy using nail polish, as you can see in pic it is affecting the shell underneath now :(

Don't worry about it. Nail polish gets old and brittle with age and it will chip and flake off on its own. It may not be pretty in the mean time, but it will come off by itself.

When a woman wears nail polish all the time, then she takes the polish off, eventually her nails take on a discolored look. This is not harmful. It corrects itself with normal growth.
