shell growth

I figured since I joined this forum I would see if some of the resident experts could give me idea of why my tortoise has this ridge along the side of his shell. I am aware of what pyramiding is, but to me this dose not seem to be pyramiding. It runs along the side just below the black parts of his scutes, and appears to be older growth.

Yeah i figured, just wanted a second opinion. And I agree, he`s a good looker. Just needs to wear down his beak and nails.
