Hey folks. Been sometime since my last post and it shouldn't have been. I do cruise the topics though.
Rhino is 7 years old this week and she's doing great except for a area on the back of her she'll. I seen it a little while ago and have no earthly idea what it could be. So, I'm asking all you fine folks. It looks like I need to cover it with something though. I would greatly appreciate your assistance. Thanks in advance!

Yep...id clean it well. Apply some neosporin type antibiotic cream. Keep it clean. You don’t want bugs laying eggs, etc.

When you say clean, are you meaning inside the wound or around the outside of the shell by it? Do you think I should put some kind of covering on it? Say, some kind of mesh to keep bugs out of it. What could have possibly done this? It looks clean cut.

Yes, she's a scraper. I'm not sure if it smells. I've got antibiotics on it now.
If it smells, and you can tell by smelling it, you need to take him to a reptile vet for treatment. Good luck with getting this fixed!
Can we see some more pictures of the entire tortoise, top and bottom? Taken from a bit more of a distance so we get the whole picture?
