I was wondering if I should be using any shell lotion for my Morla?

There are people that use vita-shell, but make sure you follow the directions on how much to use and how often.

In my one and only experiment with it, I found that it did nothing. Most people don't use anything like that and many people recommend against it.

I'm leaning against it. I have a couple of torts that appear to be developing reverse pyramiding. These are the same that were given vita shell...otherwise the tortoises have been given the exact same husbandry as any other of my tortoises that have grown normally. I'm sure when the tortoises are older that they will appear normal, however, it is very apparent in them at a small size.

Wow, that's disturbing to me since I have used it on Cooper, but so far I have only used it on him 5 or 6 times in 9 months. But it sure makes him look even cute'r for his pictures. I would like to know if anybody else has had bad reactions from VitaShell? Seems like anytime I think I am doing something good for Cooper it turns out to be bad... :(
Feeling like you do nothing right sucks![/i]

I just clean mine with baby shampoo and rinse clean. That's all they need...

If you soak them daily...twice is even better...and keep their environment humid...you won't need oils or creams or waxes! They don't do anything to improve their shells anyway!

Thank you for all the information, I will do more soaks for her. Now I soak her 4-5 times a week and she soaks herself in her water dish but I will increase it to daily. I mist her 4 times a day and make she it is moist in her enclosure. I was also thinking about getting a mister? Today I got her a bigger tank, it is a 40g breeder. Any suggestions on how to keep it moist or just get a mister?
