No, that's not shell rot. It's just minor bumps and scrapes that tortoises normally get through normal living.

I'm sending an alert to @SweetGreekTorts to see if she knows what species your tortoise is.

I agree with Yvonne. Shell rot typically happens on the plastron and is caused by wet dirty conditions. Most species are very resistant to shell rot. It is most commonly seen on Redfoot tortoises that are house on wet substrate.

Looking forward to learning which subspecies of tortoise you have there. I love the high dome.

Looks to be a Testudo graeca terrestris. They have many locals, with some being more solid gold in color with very little black on their carapace.

so is it definitely a Testudo graeca terrestris or you are not sure and thank you for all you’re hard work
