I've had my Russian, Flash Gordon for about six months so I'm still mildly concerned about everything. Today's worry is his shell. it seems a little dry and flaky almost? I've read a few threads and it seems like I need to up the humidity in his enclosure, but I thought I'd get some opinions.

Any help is appreciated!

I've got UVB and a heat/UVA light as well as a clay heat emitter because we're in the northeast US and its getting quite cold here. The lamps are about 8-9 inches away so his basking spot gets to about 100 degrees. I don't have a humidity meter (read: desperately need to get one) but I spray his substrate every other day and try to soak him at least once a week.
