My friend told me that my star tortoise's is having too much calcium that makes it shell bumpy n big. Is it true? If yes, what should I do? And why sometimes it will poop out some white stuff?

Check out a few threads on these boards about shell pyramiding, and the thread called Poopology :) These people know their tortoises.

I'm glad you are here. There is lots of good info for you in the star tortoise section. Here's an answer for you about the white stuff. Thanks to Yvonne for this.

The bumps on your tortoise are called pyramiding. There are a host of threads on this here on the forum. A quick search should turn up days of reading material. I don't know stars very well, but I have heard that some pyramiding is normal for them, even in the wild. Hopefully one of our star keepers will chime in soon to correct me if I'm wrong here.

Pyramiding is not a result of too much calcium. Calcium is very important to keep a tortoise healthy.

I think there is a pyramiding thread stickied at the top of the General Tortoise Discussion section.
