Sick Russian Tortoise?

Hello! I have a Russian tortoise named Squidy. He is fed everyday and gets bathed. I think he is sick because sometimes, he will make a puffing sound out of his nose and move his head in really fast, and close his eyes and its not normal. Why is this? There is no snot and he is in a good home.

The puffing you are hearing is probably the sound they can make when pulling their heads in. They will Bob their heads and pulling in is when they are startled. All sounds like normal stuff to me

He also closes his eyes like there is sharp pain in it then pulls his head in. I'm mostly concerned about the eyes. And thank you!

Why not post some photos of your tort and its enclosure and lights so we can take a look?

To be honest the behaviour including the closed eyes sounds normal, but we may see something in photos
