small white lines on shell?

Hello, I am not sure if this question has been answered before but anyway...
I noticed these small white squiggly lines on my baby Greek torts shell. It appears to be under the first layer, but I can still see them. It almost looks like dried water stuff. I'm tryig to post pictures but it seems whenever I try it fails :p anyway I was just wondering what they are, how they got there and if its bad in anyway. Thanks!

This subject comes up a lot here on the Forum. We don't have a definitive answer for you except to say that it seems to show up more often in the Mediterranean species, and it's perfectly normal. I was told many, many years ago that it was calcium working its way through the keratin. I don't know how true that is. You see it mainly in baby tortoises that are actively growing.
