Has anyone ever had some pieces turn green? I put in new sphagnum moss and once it dried up a few pieces had green spots. I don't think it's mold because it wasn't that wet to begin with and was within the same day that I put it in and it was dry when I noticed the green and I've been finding like 2-3 pieces like that a day for the past 3 days. I've been taking them out because I'm not sure what it is and figured I should see if anyone knows

I'm guessing it's not dead yet and got some water on it. Or it's humid. Not a big deal and tortoises can eat it. Just be sure it isn't mold.

Hmm weird. I'm pretty sure it's not mold but I'm gunna keep taking it out anyways. And that's weird are they supposed to eat the moss? I've never seen my guy eat it, he's a boxie though not a tortoise

I've seen them eat live moss never dead one. I don't see why your boxie couldn't. But if he's not then you got nothing to worry about.
