Finally getting round to posting Squirts plant re vamp🌿💚

All from the tortoise hut uk, it was definitely more expensive buying them this way, but I’m too impatient to quarantine store plants lol, so was happy paying the extra for ones that are safe to plant straight away😊really happy with the quality of them all too!

There’s a Boston fern, tradescantia, a prayer plant, some carex and fescue grass, pilea and a couple of air plants. Also added some spider plant babies of mine🙂

She does keep giving them the odd sample, but they aren’t holding up too bad so far😂🤞

She’s one spoilt tortoise🥲

Looks like pilea has no room to grow and it doesn't grow in long vines (like pothos does), so I would put it down somewhere.

Overall, the enclosure looks much better with all these plants!

Yeah I did think that😕only reason I put it up there was to test how the others hold up chomp wise😂so I have a few back ups to put down if she destroys a couple, might do it sooner though so the pilea doesn’t get crushed.

Thanks Alex! Really happy with how it’s looking😊

Swapped the spider plant and pilea round, fits and looks much better! Will post pic tomorrow, her lights are off for the night🙂

Hi, I have previously ordered online some edible/safe to eat plants for my tort just to have them arrive and discover they have "stones" (like perlite and so), can you confirm the ones from tortoise hut are free of these?
Also, do they deliver next day/overnight? My other problem is that I specifically pay for next day delivery just to have them sit in a warehouse for days before arriving.
Thanks in advance ❤️

Hello there! With these plants some do contain small bits of grit that aid in drainage, it did throw me a first though so I actually reached out to double check that they are grown completely free of fertiliser or anything from other suppliers, I was reassured that’s not the case, I opted to remove all the grit and plant in my own coir anyway though, but they are perfectly safe to go straight in🙂

I believe they aim to ship all plants the day after payment if it’s a working day, I ordered ours on a Friday so they set the delivery for the Monday, all arrived in good condition and were shipped pretty fast, hope this helps!

Oh ps, if anyone noticed that bit of tape stuff on the side of her box hide, it’s because her shell had started to wear the reptile resin, she kept using it for scratches😂 the tape is a little off cut from her specially made background lol, been holding up for a while now so least it’s fixed haha

Well pilea is no longer… maybe I should’ve kept it up there after all😬didn’t even eat it all! Took some bites and left the rest scattered, so I put it on her plate and she looks pretty damn proud of herself🙄

It seems to have inspired some decorative tendencies as she’s decided to push a few about today and take some more samples🥲

Guess she’s going to have one expensive banquet on me🙃
