Hi everyone! I would like to know what do you mean with "spray" the tortoise shell. I did read the vita shell experiment in this forum and a lot of people write about that. Is water what I have to spray over the shell to keep it humid?

Thanks

For baby sulcatas, leopards, CDTs and redfoots, spraying the shell with plain old water at least 3-4 times a day seems to help prevent pyramiding and help them grow smoother. I have never personally tried it with other species, but I'm guessing it would do the same thing. I use filtered rain water to prevent hard water stains. Some people use distilled water for shell spraying. You could also use RO water if you have that.
