Sprinting

So my marginated tortoise randomly sprinted. I'm not talking about running, but sprinting. The fastest I've seen him move. Is is about 1 year and 10 months old. His cage/area is 7ft x 3ft. Temps and humidity are normal. Basking bulb on one side and he can cool off at the other side. Normal diet of greens, LS pellets twice a week, dusting 2-3 times a week, bath about 4-5 times a week. The only thing I am thinking is his puberty. There is glass on one side and he maybe saw his reflection and decided to act all alpha. Is the sprinting normal?

That sounds normal to me. I think you're right, it seems that he thought he saw an intruder and he was trying to chase them out.
