Hi my4everlover:

Welcome to the forum!!

The two lettuces you've mentioned are ok as part of a varied diet. But you need to find other dark, leafy greens to add to the lettuces. This is from Austin's Turtle Page:

Star tortoises are herbivores that graze primarily on a variety of low quality, mixed grasses. They also eat opuntia (prickly pear) cactus, succulents, flowers, and weeds. Their natural diet is very high in fiber, high in calcium, and low in sugar and protein. The protein they do eat is all from plants; none is from animal sources. A Star tortoise’s natural diet does not include fruit, which contains high amounts of sugar that can cause bloating and parasite blooms.

I would GUESS that it would be ok to feed once a week. It usually causes a pretty loose bowel movement, and I think its high in oxalic acid.

Hey you can try to plant some Hibicus plant the flower and leave your tortoise will loe it especially the flower I planted close to 10 pot for my star. If you ever drive in spore drop me a msg I can meet up with you and pass you some Opuntia which your star will love it too.

As for normal day just feed them mixture of vegetable and add some Calcium powder on the food for them and also put a piece of cutterfish bone in the enclosure.
