Hi i’ve been reading a couple of sources on how to treat shell rot and i’ve come up with these steps. Please help me and see if i got it right
1. Check for signs and symptoms of shell rot (assess shell when it is dry?)
2. Assess enclosure
3. Clean the enclosure if needed
4. Brush affected area with betadine using a toothbrush (for 2-3 days max since betadine can inhibit healthy tissue growth)
5. Leave to dry in a newspaper flooring for around 1 hour
6. Wash out applied medicine
7. Isolate tortoise in a temporary enclosure with newspaper bedding (how long?)
8. After 2-3 days of betadine use, Use Chlorohexidine or Athlete foot cream
9. Repeat steps 5-7
