I'm prepping a 4x8 enclosure, is it OK to use bark only? Or should there be a layer of coco coir underneath? This is for a baby aldabra.

Sorry if I'm hijacking this thread.

At least in my area (southern cal).

Same for eucalyptus mulch.
I don't think I've ever seen it out of stock here. Check Lowe's. I think with you being in California you might find some orchid back at the local farm/plant nursery stores.

Armstrong Garden Center has this in stock in my area. Looks similar to what @Tom posted earlier in this thread. Would this be OK?

I couldn't find what tree that bark was made out of. You want to avoid pine bark since it can emit toxic fumes. Fir bark/orchard bark is the best.
