Once my leopard turns 3 does he still need a bath every morning? It's convenient for him to poop in there but I was wondering how necessary it is since he climbs into his water dish on his own. I can always add isopods to help keep the tank clean.

As far as I know myself, soaks can be reduced to a couple times a week (2-3 usually). Babies are soaked more due to how quick water leaves their body, leaving them more prone to dehydration, which is why babies are to be soaked daily.

If he climbs in and out of his water dish whenever he wishes, then I’d recommend soaking him once a week, just to make sure he is staying in the water long enough to get the benefits of a soak.

Ps. If he is sitting in his water dish then I myself would change the water more often, water encourages tortoises to defecate and urinate and we don’t want our tortie pals drinking what’s come out of them!

Pps. Not the biggest expert on tortoises, going off of what I’ve researched and personal opinion. There are numerous sources online you can find information for this topic.

Hope this helped ^^

Yeah this helped. And that was my thinking. Right now I've been religious about bathtime but I think if I go out of town for a few days or forget it will be ok. I already change his water every day or two and his enclosure is super humid.
