So I have a young sulcata, she's about six inches long. She definitely needs more space, but I can't take up and more floor space. Can I build up? Like a second story with a ramp and railings? Is that safe? Not sure what to do. She can't go outside in the below freezing weather. Help?

I prefer not to make two story enclosures, but some people do it and like it. Its not unsafe if you do it right.

A 6" (and growing…) sulcata really needs whole room sized enclosure. Assuming a "normal" room is around 12x12' for discussion purposes. At that size, I house them in 30x30' outdoor pens during the day and in a 4x8' closed chamber indoors at night. At 8-10", they move outside full time.

Just a question for you: If you don't have room now, what will you do when he's 16", or more, in a year and big enough to knock through the drywall in your house?

I plan to build a bigger house in the shed I have, but I need to connect electricity to it and make it so it holds heat better. Itll be ready next summer, so untill then shes in a 3' by 5' habitat.
