Type in the search engine on the site and some stuff should come up. There is a lot. Got any pics. Everyone loves some pics on here. :D BTW Welcome you will find a ton of helpful information from helpful people in order to raise a healthy sulcata. If you got him from a pet store make sure you dont go by their care sheets because they are not usually right. Again Welcome.

Welcome. It depends on the age. Babies do good on organic spring mix minus the spinach. You can add cactus cut into tiny pieces, shaved carrot now and then and try them on fresh grass. older torts 2 and up should be started on dry hay, grass, weeds, blossoms, cactus, grape leaves, variety of greens, clover, summer squash now and then, pumpkin now and then......the list goes on and on. Torts should eat anywhere from 75-80% grass and weeds. I have recently started my torts Mazuri a couple times a week. This is what I am doing but everyone tweeks things. Always have fresh water too.

I've got 7. Three adults, 3 babies and a juvi. Should have a whole bunch more next spring too. I've been keeping and raising sulcatas, and other torts, for about 20 years.

Where do you live?
Grass and weeds grow in the yards where the torts live or owners pick them and feed them. Some people Buy produce at the local grocery store to feed as well. Lots of them eat grass hay as well. Like the good quality type you feed horses.
Fruit is NOT good to feed them. Building a outdoor pen is a great idea.. I would wait on the breeding part until you learn more about them and what they need to stay healthy.

When we say that a sulcata should eat grass and weeds, we mean that a sulcata should graze, just like a horse or a cow does. They belong outside in a pen that has graze for them to eat. When we can't provide that for them, for whatever reason, then the next best thing is grocery store greens. Its best to buy the dark, leafy greens such as turnip greens, dandelion greens, mustard greens, escarole, endive, etc. You can also buy Spring Mix or Rocket salad mix and add the above mentioned greens to it.

Cypress mulch is a really good one and you should be able to find it cheap in your local hardware stores down there.
