Hi Everyone
I was wondering if any of you guys can post the growth of your Sulcata from when it was a baby to how it currently is. Like how old it is in a year, 2 years, and so on. I have a notebook just for the growth of my 3 month old Chevy and I will like to have someone else's growth chart just to make sure he is right on track right now he is 40g and 2.5 inches long.

I think it's great that you are so into Chevy. Even though there is the "norm" for growth--- each Sulcata kinda' does it's own thing. A lot is dependant on the diet it is offered, it's living conditions, exercise, sunlight exposure and temperature. Since you already have a journal for Chevy----I would just chart his weight and length--at regular intervals. Since he is 3 months{I think you said earlier} maybe 2 week "check-ups" would be ideal. You want to see slow---but STEADY growth. Always weigh at a similar time of day[maybe right after a poop] and before or after a soak---it doesn't matter--before or after---just do it the same way all the time. I did find a chart on line once, but I forgot to bookmark and haven't been able to find, again. Good Luck

Here is my weights/lengths for Fred and Ethel both are growing but at different rates. They both eat a lot and are healthy. I would not worry as long as Chevy is growing, eating and happy.
I have been weighing them every week, but now plan on switching to every 2 weeks and then in the spring once a month.

I don't really know exactly but I would guess about 7-8 months old. I did not get an exact birth date on either of them when I bought them. As you can see they are growing at a much different rate, but both seem healthy and happy. I am not too worried one day Ethel might pass Fred in weight they both have a long life ahead of them. As long as they stay healthy and smooth that is all that counts.

I finally charted my three hatchlings. Tuck and Tulee hatched mid-May and Trey hatched at the end of May. They are now 5 1/2 months old. These are the fastest growing baby sulcatas I have ever raised, so this is not "normal". I think its due to the very high levels of hydration, moisture and humidity. Their parents did not grow any where near this fast and, in fact, my 50 pound 12 year old adults and these babies make up the two opposite ends of the growth spectrum. Super slow on the adults and super fast on the hatchlings.
You can see more of these babies and their growth here:
