Sulcata substrate question!

I have a month old sulcata named Rocky. I want him to have a nice smooth shell when he grows up. What is the best substrate to make this happen?

He's currently in Zoo Med's Repti Bark which I keep fairly moist. I soak him daily.

I prefer orchid bark, but coco coir, cypress mulch, proper soil or yard dirt will work too.

It takes much more than the right substrate to get this done.

The care sheet will tell u all you need to know. But as Tom said it has to do with a lot more than substrate, it's all about heat and humidity and to get this you must have the proper substrate.
