Hello! Had a quick question about my sulcata tortoise eggs. They have been in incubator for about 2 weeks. The vermiculite is dry but humidity is still reading at 89%. Is that okay? There is water in little containers inside incubator to help keep humidity up.

No. The incubation media needs to be damp. Only Russian tortoises need dry incubation media.

Use vermiculite and make it a 1 to 1 ratio if water to vermiculite by weight. For example: If you use 300 grams of vermiculite in your shoe box, then use 300 grams of water to dampen it. Try to maintain this level throughout incubation by adding a little water to the corners from time to time. When you see your first pip around 90 days, add a bunch of water. You do not want it to be dry when they are trying to hatch.
