Please help! My son found a Sulcata Tortoise in the middle of our street back in August. I have been trying to care for him but believe I just cannot offer what it needs. He is about 10" long. We have named him Sully. The local zoo's cannot take him and I would really like to find him a home. Any ideas?

It would help if we knew where you are.

We'll help you find him home. No problem. Did you put up "found" posters in the area where he was found? Did you contact the local shelters and vets to see if anyone is looking for a lost one? Getting him back to his owner would be best case, but if that doesn't work we'll get him to a good place.

I agree with Tom, if it were my Sulcata missing I would be going out of my mind trying to find Cooper! So my hope is that you can find its owner. What state are you in?

audsabal, I have to concur. If you haven't been looking for the owners of this tortoise, you should. Two of mine have gone missing and I am heartsick about them. If someone had them, I would hope they would return them. I have posters up, I have ads in craigslist, I have left numbers with vets. and the animal shelter. I also have called the Humane Society and all of the pet stores in my area. I have just made fliers about them that I am handing out to everyone in my neighborhood. I have scoured my backyard and have cut down almost all of the grass down with scissors. If you have never tried cutting a whole backyard down with scissors, I suggest you try, after a while it really starts to hurt your hands and fingers. Anyways, maybe the owner of that sulcata is hoping for its safe return. If you have tried, I commend you and I know that you will be able to find a good home for it.

Tammy: It would be best if you were to send this person an email. They came on the forum over a month ago, made this thread, then haven't returned to read the answers.
