Do Star's tend to eat a lot less when it gets warmer? My tort's been eating very little for about 10 days now and I've been worried - but a friend said his too started eating less about 7-8 days ago ... it's getting hotter here and maybe that's the reason?

It's been my experience in general with tortoises that they eat more and tend to gain more weight as it gets warmer and that seems to be across the board from speaking with others as well.

Do you give him bath soak? Maybe on alternate days you could soak him in lukewarm water for 20 to 30 mins. This will help him to be more active and may spur his appetite. He would also love to poo during soak. Make sure water level is not too high. Generally should be up to the dividing line joining top shell and bottom shell.
