Hello everybody! I am a new found tortoise lover and a father to a year old sulcata (Can't tell the gender of it yet, so I just call it "Buddy" for now). On my 19th birthday, my dad found a four to seven year old sulcata in our yard and decided to give it to me. I fell in love with the tort, but found out that it belonged to a neighbor a few days later. I was so heart broken when I had to give him back, so my parents bought me a baby one about nine months ago. I know a sulcata is a big responsibility, and probably not the best choice for the colder Northeastern temperatures, but I just had to have the same kind of tortoise as the one I fell in love with. I've been taking advice from this site for a while now and have finally decided to join. I don't have the best setup for it yet, but I'm trying my best and things are going well so far. I hope to be able to share my experiences with my new tort and improve as a tortoise caretaker through you guys.
