Hello I would like your thoughts on these possible addition to my collection.
He states they are about 3.5 years old and 4.5 inches.
Am I mistaken, I believed that was much to small to be egg bearing.
He says he keeps his 2.2 together, I thought males were a major nono.
Do you think it is too fishy to purchase?
The 'conversation' below is my corespondents with him
My response to his ad on kijiji:
Hello can you please send me pictures of the two females advertised?
His response with good looking pictures of tortoises:
top 2 females ,checkout tail.also how carapise on male completely cover tail to ground, bottom pic 1 also female. 3 pic is male.thx john also 1 wont sell both females by themselves male should go with 1 of them ,they are/will be breeding set(trio).
My response:
They look great, its to bad you will not let the 2 females go.
I also ready have a 1.2 trio, with a back up stud male on his own. I am looking to make it a 1:4 with a stud male.
I do not have room for a permanent long term cage for another male by him self.
Good luck
And his reply:
no problem,i could sell you 1 female ,but it would be shame to split up pairs,it would be harder to sell male by him self ,so wife say they go together or we keep. they have produced 2 fertile eggs this season and this was first year bigger female has.thx john ps you should keep extra male with rest if you want them to produce seems to work for me.
