If the tank is bigger than your table, them I would switch...it will make it easier to manage heat and humidity....just keep in mind it will soon outgrow the tank.
Glass tanks are not bad. That is a myth from the past. I prefer them for the exact reasons people say they are bad. I've been raising turtles and tortoises in them for 33 years.
Idk if its a old myth or not, but you still gotta be carful when using a tank, they can over heat easy if you use to high wattage of a bulb. Also poor air circulation can make it warm inside a tank. I recommend a thermometer on both ends of the enclosure, and I do no recommend aquariums that are narrow, use a terrarium they are a bit wider then an aquarium. Also i like to open mine up and let air out a now and afain. I been using tanks for hatchlings mostly, and I just got a massive terrarium that's the size of a tortoise table it's been working well. Humidity is easier to keep I guess, I find tortoise tables just as easy, if kot easier lol
