Temperature question.

I realized that I am keeping my homes waaay to warm. I read they like temps from 70-80 degrees F. Is there a way to lower her temp while keeping the uv light on? Does UVB and UVA go through plexiglass? If it does, i could just pull it away from her tank more but im almost positive it doesnt. Im alittle confused and worried that I may be hurting her.

UV does not go through plexi.

Very few of us keep this species. I couldn't tell you the first thing about what they need. I only know what I have read here. I think you'll get more help if you PM Jacqui or one of the other people who keep them here.

What kind of UV light are you using? If it is a fluorescent, it should not be adding much heat at all.
