i read that i should feed from a terra cotta dish,( to keep the beak trimmed down) so i got some flower pot trays atr Lowes. They look like a short dish. But the Terra Cotta seems to suck all the moisture out of the moistened foods. Am i doing something wrong?

So do i continue using the dish and adding water every now and then? or do i use a plastic bowl which gives no benefit to the beak?

just moistening some of the food. the grasslands diet says to wet it so i soak it first then put it in the bowl. Some brands of Box turtle food say you can moisten it.

If you don't like the terracotta you can use a slate tile. I find that my terracotta saucers never really dry out completely anymore so they don't seem to absorb a lot.

Box turtles like to sit in the water, I'd get a bigger, deeper plastic pot saucer for them.....

I think in this case she was talking about food, but I agree, I don't use terra cotta for water dishes with my critters.

I was thinking it was just about booze-thirty. I've been working all day, I think some fruity foofy drink is in order.
