The biggest russian tortoises in the universe!

well maybe not but this is the biggest russian I have ever seen. I thought my girls where big because they are larger then the ones you usualy see for sale but this girl is twice the size. Her name is brooklyn

The pattern on her carapace looks different from a Russian to me. I wonder if Russians and Greeks could interbreed and she might be an intergrade? At any rate, she's a pretty tortoise. Are you adding Brooklyn to your stable?

I adopted a small group. She does look a bit differnt. The pattern is a whole lot differnt from the other female in the group. They are both more of the blondish types. I will post some more pics and info on her in the next day or so. That pic was straight out of the package before going into the pen outside. So I didnt want to mess with them to much.

Is there any info on russian hybirds? Ive never heard of that before.

She looks all Russian to me. I haven't heard of Russian/Greek hybrids, but I have heard of Russian/Hermanns hybrids. I haven't seen any pictures though.

Its funny you shoud say that danny , my russian looks exactly (shape wise) like the hermans tortoises posted in the photo contest. But the color of the legs and head are all russian. I gotta post more pics for you guys.

I've got a huge female Russian also. She is about 7" long, 5" wide and weighs over 2Lbs! I can barley get my hand around her to pick her up, its a two handed job! She is a beautiful yellow color also. I'm thinking maybe she was fed ALOT by the previous keepers. Pictures are not great, camera phone.

My biggest female is 7" SCL and 6" wide. She weighs 1,560g, which is a bit over 3.3 pounds.
