Those terrapin

For some reason, my diamondback terrapin prefer to eat on land(most aquatic turtles have to eat in water).

That's fine, but I wish they wouldn't kill the fish just not to finish. Oh well, good crayfish bait🤣

My thought would be your Diamond Back Terrapin is not eating on land, but taking its food on land to get away from the competition. At least from the fish shown here, it is not able to eat it there, so left it. As far as I've seen and experienced, they too need to be in water to swallow their food.

They 100% can eat and swallow on land. I have a few videos
